Mrs. Betty Jean Kresta, age 76, of East Bernard and formerly of Louise, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 in Rosenberg, TX. She was born on August 18, 1938, in Houston, TX, a daughter of Wilburn and Victoria Poncik Ransone. Mrs. Kresta grew up in Louise and was a longtime resident of Hungerford. She graduated from Louise High School. Betty was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, quilting, and playing games, especially cards and board games. On October 20, 1956, she married Eugene Kresta in Louise. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Kresta, her infant son Mark Kresta and her parents Wilburn and Victoria Ransone Visitation will be held Tuesday evening after 5 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11th at 10 a.m. at St. Procopius in Louise. Burial will follow at the St. Procopius Cemetery. Survivors include her sons Kenneth Kresta and wife Jeanette of East Bernard, Terrance Kresta and wife Dana of Seguin, Randall Kresta and wife Daephne of East Bernard, Craig Kresta and wife Susan of Wharton and Christopher Kresta and wife Sarah of East Bernard; grandchildren Kurt Kresta and wife Julie, Kyle Kresta and wife Tonya, Terri Lynn Martinez and husband Nathaniel, Crystal Gomez and husband Ray, Mark Kresta and wife Brooklyn, Sara Beth Wind and husband John, Nicholas Kresta and wife Callie, Kelsie and Shane Kresta, Kristen Sikora and husband Matt and Brooke Kresta; great-grandchildren Roman and Blair Kresta, Kaden and Konner Kresta, Joshua, Alyssa, Kayleigh, Jonathan and Nathan Martinez, Courtney, Harold Ray III and Cassidy Gomez, Brody Kresta, Madeline and Andrew Wind, Harley Muniz and Quinn Sikora; sisters Victoria Sulak and the late Fred Sulak of Louise and Constance Laitkep and husband Robert of Wharton; brother George Ransone and wife Frances of Hilltop Lakes. Pallbearers will be Kurt Kresta, Kyle Kresta, Mark Kresta, Nicholas Kresta, John Wind, Shane Kresta, Matt Sikora, Nathaniel Martinez, Ray Gomez, Sr. and Paul Muniz.
