Mrs. Maria Andrea “Andie” Solis, age 68, of Rosenberg and formerly of Wharton died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Houston, TX, following a long illness. She was born on August 21, 1946, in Newgulf, daughter of the late Robert and Mary Driscoll Rodriguez. Andie was a longtime resident of Wharton County. She graduated from Boling High School and from Wharton County Junior College as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse at Southwest Memorial Hospital and became a Case Manager in 2006. Andie enjoyed her trips to Coushatta, reading and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her brother, Mario Rodriguez preceded her in death. Visitation will be held this Friday evening, February 13th at Wharton Funeral Home after 5 p.m, with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with Fr. Ty Bazar officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include her sons, Craig Solis and wife, Penny of Arlington, Ryan Solis and wife, Amanda of Richmond, and Tony Solis and wife, Marcie of Grand Prairie, sisters, Stella Duran of Cypress and Delia Montemayor of Alvin, grandchildren, Nickolas Heiman-Solis, Felicity Lorduy, Camryn Johnson and Andy Solis. Pallbearers will be Craig Solis, Ryan Solis, Tony Solis, Russell Montemayor, Steve Driscoll, Lupe Solis, Eliseo Hernandez and Larry Montemayor.
