Nadine King, 84, of Wharton, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at an El Campo nursing facility following a lengthy illness. She was born August 14, 1930 in Sylvester, Georgia to the late Charlie and Ruby West. Nadine attended school in Georgia. She married B.D. King, Jr. on September 6, 1968. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2002. Nadine was a homemaker all her married life. She enjoyed shopping, traveling especially Pikes’ Peak and being a member of the Pilot Club. Nadine also excelled at handcrafts, making flower paperweights for many friends, family and customers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Bernice West, John West and Howard West. Following cremation, memorial services will be held Saturday, February 21, 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Wharton with Rev. Meredith Wende officiating. She is survived by her son, W.E. Wilson and wife, Deborah Marie of Houston, grandchildren, Eileen and husband Johnny Cruz,Jr., of Wharton, and Helen and husband Scott Coffee of Sugarland, great grandchildren, Tiffany and Halie Munoz, Brandi and husband Stephen Jimenez, Megan and husband Derrick Townsend, Sean, Andrew, Abby, and Maria Rosemond, Austin, and Anna Coffee. Her great great grandchildren, Stran and Stocks Jimenez and Kolby Townsend also survive. Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
