Mary Miculka, age 92, of Hungerford, passed away February 16, 2015, at a Wharton nursing home following a lengthy illness. She was born on August 17, 1922 in Hungerford, Texas, the daughter of the late Joe Bartos and Annie Spurny Bartos. Mary attended public schools in Hungerford. She married Frank J. Miculka on August 6, 1946 in Hungerford, Texas. Mary was a housewife and later worked in the school cafeteria for 25 years. She loved cooking, gardening, dancing, but most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and KJZT. In addition to her parents, her husband Frank, her daughter in law, Janet Miculka, her son in law Pat Krejci and her brother, Paul Bartos, preceded her in death. Visitation was held Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 6 pm with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford. Funeral services were held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 1 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford. Interment followed at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Hungerford. Survivors include daughters Janet Bubela and husband Larry of Hungerford, Loretta Krejci of Wharton, Cynthia Ivy and husband Fred of Hungerford; sons Frank E. Miculka of East Bernard, Don “Red” Miculka and wife Connie of Hungerford; sisters Josie Mican of Wharton and Martha Marek and husband, Daniel of El Campo; brother Jerome Bartos and wife, Betty of Lake Jackson; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with another one on the way. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church.
