Delores Mach Svatek

Delores Mach ‘Nanie’ Svatek, age 69, of Boling, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at a Wharton hospital following a brief illness. She was born on September 10, 1945, in El Campo, TX, a daughter of the late Justin Emil Mach, Sr. and Mildred Schulze Mach. Nanie was a longtime resident of Boling. She attended Boling schools and obtained her GED. She worked for Machs’ for many years and also at the Boling Water District in Boling. Nanie was a professional grandma, loving and caring not only for her grandchildren, but taking in other children as well. She was married to Jerry James Svatek, Sr. She loved her family. Her grandchildren gave her great pleasure, being active in their lives. She loved playing bingo and going to Coshatta. Nanie was also known in the community as the Queen of raffle ticket sales and fundraiser dinner plates. She was always busy helping the children of Boling ISD. Nanie enjoyed her Coffee Drinking Club. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Mission in Boling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Laura Gaye Svatek. Visitation will begin on Sunday, March 8th after 5 pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with a parish rosary starting at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10 am at St Joseph Catholic Church in Boling with Rev. Daniel Danso officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Pallbearers will be Justin Hobbs, Garret Svatek, Greg Mach, Darryl Spacek, Keith Marek, Douglas Mach, Todd Svatek and Kade Bickham. Members of her Coffee Drinkers Club, Dot Archer, Virginia Rumsey, Lil Wittig, Ann Snider, Frances Davidek, Frances Gonzalez and Mary Garza serving as honorary pallbearers. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Svatek, Sr. of Boling, son, Jerry James Svatek, Jr. of Boling, daughter, Wanda Hobbs of Boling, grandchildren, Justin Hobbs, MaKayla Hobbs, Allie Hobbs, Gabbie Svatek and Garret Svatek, sister, Dorothy Marek and husband, Larry of Shiner, brothers, Justin ”Butch” Mach, Jr. and Gary Mach and wife Elizabeth both of Boling, granddogs, Mollie and Blaze, special cousin, Lillian Spacek, special friend, Norma Navarro and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations honoring Delores Mach Svatek to be sent to the Boling ISD Central Office, PO Box 160, Boling, Texas 77420 (payable to Boling ISD). Delores passionately supported the children of her community and these donations will directly benefit all students of Boling Independent School District.
