Pedro Lopez Mireles

Pedro Mireles Mr. Pedro Mireles, age 91, of Wharton went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in Houston, TX. He was born on April 21, 1923 in Bay City, TX, a son of the late Lorenzo and Florencia Lopez Mireles. Pedro was a longtime resident of Wharton. He attended Wharton schools. He worked at Sansings’ Grocery Store for many years. Pedro enjoyed fishing and hunting deer, and his garden. Living close to Mt Carmel Church, he attended Mass as often as possible. Pedro married Maria Gonzales on August 14, 1960. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2010. In addition to his parents and wife, a sister, Julia and brother, John, also preceded him in death. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15th from 5 till 8 pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with a rosary at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday the 16th at 10 am, at Mt Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev. Daniel Danso officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include his daughter, Olga Mireles and husband, David Elizondo of Wharton, son, Pedro Mireles and wife, Frances of Wharton four sisters and four brothers, four grandchildren and a great grandchild.
