Dee I Chance, III

Mr. Dee I. Chance, III, age 61, of Sweeney, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 in Lake Jackson, TX. He was born on February 28, 1954, in Bay City, TX, a son of Dee I. Chance, Jr. and Audrey Horvath Chance. Mr. Chance made his home in the Houston area, living in Houston, Galveston, and finally settling in Sweeney. He was a graduate of the Texas Southern University Nursing Program. Dee was employed by the Methodist Hospital in Houston for 30 yrs. He dedicated his life to helping others in his role as a nurse, primarily in ER/Trauma settings. He enjoyed travel, especially to Europe. He will always be remembered for his caring, giving and kind nature. Dee was a very committed and compassionate Christian person. There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday, April 19th at 2:00 pm at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel in Wharton, TX. There will be a private burial. Survivors include his brother Arthur Chance (Renee); niece Megan Ann Borrego (Michael); nephew Casey Cole Chance; great-nephew Christopher Borrego. Dee, also leaves behind his friend, Justin Wheeler and many other family members and friends. He will be remembered and missed by many. Services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
