Mary Ann Dorris, age 80, of Wharton passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, at her residence in Wharton. She was born on February 1, 1935 in Hungerford, Texas to the late Adolph and Ludmilla Muniza Sabrsula. Mary was raised in the Hungerford area and attended Hungerford schools. She married Billy Dorris on May 25, 1954 in Wharton at the Abell Street Church of Christ. She helped Billy operate Billy Dorris Inc., an oil field consulting business. Billy passed away on May 31, 2011. Mary enjoyed sewing, tending her plants, selling Avon, and decorating the house for holidays. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, her brothers, Anton, Paul and A.J. Sabrsula, Viola Kalina, Pauline Kalina, Lillie Kalina, and Betty Dry, preceded Mary in death. Following cremation, Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2pm from Abell Street Church of Christ. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mary is survived by her daughters, Claudia Buzek of Houston, and Sherrie Guin and husband, Tim of Wharton; son, Bobby Dorris and wife, Margaret of Richmond; brother, Alfred Sabrsula and wife, Ruth of Wharton; sisters, Clara Kutach and husband, Adolf of Wharton, and Tracy Howell and husband, Preston of Edna; five granddaughters, Emily Giffin and husband, Rod, Jamie Smith and husband, Travis, Wendy Tamayo, Becky Dorris, and Mandy Guin; seven great grandchildren, Shelby Buzek, Kori Priest, Drew Priest, Bella Tamayo, Jade Smith, Ethan Tamayo, and Jacob Smith as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
