Madeline Schumaker Madeline Julie Schumaker, 81, of Wharton, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born December 24, 1933 in Wharton County, Texas to parents John Vinc and Julie Millie Klimek Urbanovsky. Madeline was raised in the East Bernard area and graduated from East Bernard High School in 1952. She worked as an office manager for a doctor’s clinic for many years, only retiring in May 2015. She married Mr. Gene Schumaker on January 10, 1972 in Wharton. She enjoyed being at the ranch, and loved ranch life. Some of her favorite times were spent watching her donkey and her cats. She cherished her time spent with her family and friends and going out to eat with them. In addition to her parents and husband, her siblings preceded her in death. Visitation will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 evening from 6 till 8 pm with a 7 pm Rosary at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard. Serving, as pallbearers are Tommy Urbanovsky, Merlin Urbanovsky, Jason Chaka, Sid Chaka, Kevin Chaka, J.A. Szymanski, David Fucik, and David Castle. Madeline is survived by nieces and nephews, Cynthia Urbanovsky Chaka and husband, Sid of Katy, Merlin John Urbanovsky, Jr. and wife, Diana of Richmond and Tommy Urbanovsky and wife, Cheryl of Wharton, sister in laws, Jeanette Richter and husband, Edwin and Delores Kasper and husband, Andrew and their families.
