Stanley "Ray" James

Stanley Ray James, age 69 of Boling, TX passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015. He was born on November 1, 1945, in Wharton, TX, the son of Orvel and Vera Morrison James. He was joined in marriage to Hazel Shanks on December 17, 1965 Ray graduated from Boling High School before serving his country honorably in the U. S. Marine Corps. After his military service, he made a career as a Lineman for HL&P until his retirement. He went on to make a second career as a truck driver. His true joy came from training his horses, trail rides, auctions and of course playing with his grandchildren. He couldn’t wait to get to Heaven so he could ride his favorite mare, Whiskey. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. His father and brother, Richard James preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Hazel Shanks James; daughters Brenda Marak and husband Kenneth of Hungerford, Susan Franklin and husband Brian of Boling, Kim Moeller and husband Derick of Boling; his mother, Vera James of Boling sister-in-law Barbara James of Lolita, TX; his mother, grandchildren Kenny Marak, Jessica Ruiz, Kodi James, Kris Moeller, Harold Franklin, Samantha Franklin and Anna Moeller; and four great grandchildren.
