Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Rodgers, age 58, of Wharton died Friday, July 3, 2015 in Wharton, TX, following a long illness. She was born on August 13, 1956, in Jacksonville, IL, a daughter of William and Greta Williamson Ducey. Mrs. Rodgers spent many of her formative years in Illinois. Her mother remarried Paul Snow, who became her adoptive father. She later moved to Oklahoma City where she graduated from Classon High School in 1973. While living in the Houston area she met and married the love of her life, Paul Alvie Rodgers on March 17, 1984. She had several careers, but her favorite was as a secretary for Marriott Hotels, prior to moving to Wharton in 1991. Following her retirement she was able to pursue her many hobbies including sewing, cooking, and her family. She an her husband Paul also enjoyed traveling around the world to visit family, camping when the weather was nice, and will always remember their 20th wedding anniversary on the Eiffel Tower. A private graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery near El Campo at a later date. She was preceded in death by her father, William Ducey and her adoptive father Paul Snow. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Paul Rodgers; mother Greta Snow; step-daughter Jennifer Wilgers and husband Marty; step-sons Bob Rodgers and wife Peggy, Dave Rodgers and wife Ivy and Michael Rodgers; sisters Carolyn, Anne, Susan, Kathy, Barbara and Ellen; brothers Pat and Michael; grandchildren Jennifer, Katherine, Eric and Tristen; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Johanna Fred Scholarship Fund at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wharton, TX.
