Frances Rodriguez

Frances Rodriguez, 75, of Wharton and formerly of Los Angeles CA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at her residence following a sudden illness. She was born January 22, 1940 in Los Angeles CA to the late Emilio and Emilia Ramirez Espinosa. Frances was raised in the Los Angeles area and attended schools there. She worked for over 35 years at the LAC USC Medical Center as a Patient Financial Services Worker. Upon retirement, she moved to Wharton to be closer to one of her daughters. She enjoyed making bookmarks, computer work, reading her Bible, and craft making. She was very involved with the Senior Citizen Program at the LaDeau center at Wharton County Junior College. In addition to her parents, her sons, Manuel Armando Rios and Charles Anthony Rios, and brothers, Angel Espinosa, Jose Guadalupe Espinosa, Miguel Espinosa, Hilario Espinosa and Emilio Espinosa, Jr. and sister, Josie Duran preceded her in death. Visitation was held in the evening of Monday, July 13, 2015 with a Prayer Service recited at 7 pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10 am at Wharton Funeral Home with Rdo. Richard Arrieta officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving, as pallbearers are Franco Rios, David Rios, Bacilio Perez, Jared Chavez, Jonathan Arriaga, and Pablo Martinez, IV. Her daughters, Margaret Gillespie and husband, Andrew of Pitts Meadows, British Columbia, and Dolores Perez and husband, Bacilio of Wharton, sons, Franco Rios and wife, Tracy of Sacramento and David Rios and wife, Julie of Dover, Florida, grandchildren, Amanda Rae, Mateo, Frank and Oscar Rios, survive Frances, sisters, Gloria Espinosa of Pasadena CA, Cirilia Avalos of Stockton, CA, Ramona Espinosa of Los Angeles, and Maria Anastasia Dawson of Pasadena CA, brother, Carlos Espinosa of Los Angeles.
