Cheryl M Bourg

Mrs. Cheryl Duplantis Bourg, age 71, of East Bernard died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Richmond, TX. She was born on January 8, 1944, in Houma, LA, a daughter of Herbert and Ruby Duplantis. Mrs. Bourg was a longtime resident of Wharton County, having moved here in 1976. Cheryl devoted her life to making a home for her family and her church. On May 6, 1962, she married the love of her life, Robert Bourg in Houma, LA. While no one could deny her love of shopping, her greatest joy came from her church family, especially the kids. She spent many happy hours playing games and teaching them about the Bible. Visitation will be held this morning, Saturday, July 25th at Wharton Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Barbee of River of Life Assembly of God officiating. Survivors include her husband, Robert, of 53 years; daughter Jackie Kulhanek and her husband Bernard of East Bernard; son Kevin Bourg and his wife Liz of Boling; brothers Herbert Duplantis and his wife Norma, Norman Duplantis and his wife Ruby, and Kenneth Duplantis; grandchildren Nikki, Ryan and Bryan Kulhanek and Damien, Deanna and Dominic Bourg.
