Trinidad Torres Villarreal, age 94 of Wharton passed away Friday, August 14, 2015, at her home in Wharton. She was born on June 12, 1921, in Melchor Muzquiz, Coahuila De Zaragoza, Mexico, the daughter of the late Gerardo and Filomena Castillo Torres. Trinidad devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was married to the late Manuel Villarreal in October of 1940, in East Bernard, TX. He was the love of her life, even after his passing on October 9, 1973. She loved working in her yard and gardens, and she could cook everything. She raised many of her grandchildren, and always eagerly awaited visits from her family. She raised her family to know the Lord, and always placed the Lord first in her life. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-9 with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m, at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with Father Bob Knippenburg officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Manuel at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Nada, TX. Trinidad was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Troy Villarreal. She is survived by her daughters Tilley Jimenez and husband Frank of Houston, Elena Trevino and husband Valentin of Houston and Gloria Villarreal Jarvela of Wharton; sons Manuel Villarreal and wife Isabel of Wharton, Israel Villarreal and wife Virginia of Wharton, Rudy Villarreal of Wharton and Johnny Villarreal and wife Silvia of Wharton; five sisters, three brothers, 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brian Butler, Robert Jarvela, Marshall Butler, Charles Butler, Manny Villarreal, Timothy Villarreal, Gabriel Villarreal, Jason Villarreal, Chris Villarreal, Steve Trevino, Adam Trevino and Michael Jimenez. Honorary Pallbearer will be the memory of her late grandson, Troy Villarreal, he may be gone, but is not forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Houston Hospice.
