Margaret Baca Stavinoha, age 66, of Wharton, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015, in Houston. She was born on April 21, 1949, in Flatonia, TX, the daughter of the late Herman and Agnes Nikel Baca. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was married to the love of her life, Emil Stavenoha on August 25, 1979. Margaret enjoyed working at Child Development Center in Wharton as a lunch room cook. She was also well known for her kolaches and baked goods, so much so that she added a commercial kitchen at their house to be able to bake for customers during the holidays, for weddings, and other events. Many will also remember her for teaching 2nd grade CCD and for being the instructor for altar service for over 15 years at Holy Family Catholic Church. Margaret was also a member of Catholic Daughters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Frank Baca and sister, Agnes Branecky. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-9 with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m, at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Bob Knippenberg officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, TX with services at 1 pm. She is survived by her husband of nearly 35 years, Emil Stavinoha; sons Emil Stavinoha Jr. of Wharton and Glen Stavinoha and his wife Kimberly of Wharton; sister Mary Brawecky of Flatonia, TX; brothers Edward Baca and his wife Cynthia of Spring, TX and Herman Baca Jr. and his wife Arnel of Flatonia; and granddaughter Hadley Stavinoha of Wharton.
