Carlos “Chale” Campos, 68, of Wharton passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015, in Sugarland, Tx. He was born on April 30, 1947 in Newgulf, Tx to Alvino Campos, Sr. and Guadalupe Cuellar Campo. He married the love of his life, Gloria Rodriguez on August 14, 1976 at Mt Carmel Catholic Church. They raised their four kids together. He made his living as a table supervisor at Imperial Sugar in Sugarland until his retirement. He loved to fish, anywhere and anytime. The eating of the fish he caught was also a great pleasure. He also loved playing slot machines and shopping for new fedoras. He had an impressive collection of hats. Chale was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Delia Alaniz, brothers, Alvino Campos, Jr., David Campos, and Richard Campos. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gloria Rodriguez Campos, daughters, Mitzi Campos and husband, James Johnson of Wharton and Bitzi Goodrich and husband, Jesse of Virginia Beach, VA, sons Quincy James Campos and wife, Leticia of Wharton and Carlos Campos, Jr and his wife, Irene Rodriguez Campos of Wharton, sisters, Irene Carbajal, Margaret Rios, Amelia Garcia, Corina Robles, Lydia Campos, Betty Jimenez and Elva Ramirez, brothers, Robert Campos, Alonzo Campos, and Rodolfo Campos, grandchildren Jaylen Garcia, Joey Garcia, J.J. Garcia, Christian Campos, Camdyn Goodrich, Colbie Goodrich, Adrianna Campos, Caden Campos, and his “little tornado” Amrah Campos. The family will hold a rosary at 5:00 p.m. with service following at Mt Carmel Catholic Chruch on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Honorary pallbearers will be John Rodriguez, Doug Beebe, Joshua Krobot, Rudy “Buttons” Batilla, Alvino Carbajal, Omar Garcia, Adrian Garcia and Rick Robles.
