Agustin Betancourt

Agustin Betancourt, 21, passed from this life on September 26, 2015.  He was born on August 28, 1994, in Galveston, Texas. He will be remembered for his heart of gold and contagious laugh. He was always looking to make new friends. He had a passion for Chevy trucks, music, and the Texans. He Loved his family more than words can explain. Agustin had big dreams and a big appetite for food and Christ. We love you and will greatly miss you. Always know that you made your Mama proud! Visitation will be held at Wharton Funeral Home on Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 5 – 9 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 6:00.  Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boling on Friday, October 2, at 2:00 p.m., with Father Bob Knippenburg officiating.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Sanchez, Eric Sanchez, Kevin Gibson, Felipe Gonzalez, Zach Cantu and Jario Miranda. Agustin is survived by his mother, Luciana Gonzalez and step-father David Reyes of Boling; Sister Rosemary Betancourt of Boling; brother Angel Betancourt of Boling; uncles Santiago Gonzalez  and wife Frances of Boling, Mario Gonzalez and wife Ana of Boling, Antonio Gonzalez of Houston, Fermin Gonzalez and wife Melissa of Houston, Francisco Gonzalez of Houston, Rogelio Gonzalez of Mexico, Genaro Gonzalez of Mexico and Francisco Betancourt of Boling; aunts Martha Sanchez and husband Diego of East Bernard, Salustia Betancourt of Boling, Felicia Alavcon and husband Jose of California and Noelia Gonzalez of Boling; grandmother Maria Betancourt of Mexico.
