Martha Gajewsky passed away November 17, 2015 in Wharton after a brief illness. She was born October 11, 1918 in Fayetteville, TX to Stephan and Justina Horelica Havran. She married William Gajewsky on January 23, 1939 in Hungerford and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1963. Martha was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church since 1947. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015, from 5 – 8 with a Rosary at 6:00, at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, November 20, 2015, with Father Bob Knippenburg officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and Michael Stemmer of Richmond and Geralyn and Gregory Mulligan of San Antonio; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Janet Gajewsky of Lane City. Surviving sister is Vlasta Brenk of Glen Flora along with nine grandchildren, Ricky Gajewsky, Chris Gajewsky, Holly Fatuch, Jennifer Morales, Kimberly Murphy, Allen Sockwell, Tammy Brenner, David Gajewsky and Annette Maly and nine great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Martha was preceded in death by daughter Betty Sockwell; son Daniel Gajewsky and grandson Danny Gajewsky; sisters Bernice Bock, Ann Marie Dobias and Georgia Conklin; brother Edwin Havran; and one great-grandchild, Amber Hensarling. The family wants to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to her long-time caregivers, Elma Samora, Lupe Sedillo and Sandra Sedillo.
