Mary Lankford Ferrell, 93, of Boling, died November 22, 2015. Mary was born on April 15, 1922 in Milano, TX, to Jesse and Edna Sanders Lankford. She married Leonard Allen Ferrell in January of 1939 in Caldwell, Texas. Visitation will be on Friday, November 27, 2015, beginning at noon, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tony Wishert officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Reid Ferrell, Corbin Ferrell, Geoffrey Ferrell, Chase Ferrell, Bryce Skow, Bryan Skow, Russell Childers, David Childers, Brandon Ferrell and Kevin Ferrell. Mary worked many years as a telephone operator then later for the Boling school system in the cafeteria for over 20 years before her retirement. She was famous for her quilts, pies and cooking. She will always be remembered for being good natured and having a sweet disposition. Above all else, she loved having her family gathered around her. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Allen Ferrell; daughter Barbara Nell Farmer; sons Wayne Oliver Ferrell, Owen Leonard Ferrell, and Garwin Turner Ferrell. She was survived by her daughter Sybil Balusek and Alton of Garwood; sons Allen Dale Ferrell & Bonny of Boling, Curtis Ferrell & Joyce of El Campo, Weldon Ferrell & Glenna of East Bernard; brothers, Roy Clanton of Caldwell, Bobby Clanton of Bryan; sisters in law Josie Ferrell of Caldwell, Ruth Lankford of Canon City, CO; sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
