Willie Carl Ford, Sr.

Willie Carl Ford, Sr., 81, of Wharton, died December 1, 2015, in Sugar Land, TX. Willie was born on August 31, 1934 in Jonesville, LA, to Jessie and Lois Coleman Ford. He married Claudia J Cottingim on March 13, 1959. Willie graduated high school in Jonesville, LA, before enlisting in the Navy. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Texaco. Long after retirement, his truck driving passion remained. He will always be remembered as a big bear with a gentle heart. He was survived by his wife of 56 years, Claudia Cottongim Ford; daughters Sondra “Sandy” Hutchison & Charles of Dallas and Carla Svatek & Mark of Wharton; son Bill Ford & wife Kem of Boling; grandchildren Kerbe Ford, Kendyl Ford, Chas Hutchison, Carley Hutchison, Bailey Svatek, Bradley Svatek and Brittany McCord.
