Theresa Pekar

Theresa Pekar, 58, of Wharton, TX, died January 1, 2016, under Hospice care in Wharton, TX. Theresa was born on August 9, 1957 in Bay City, TX, to the late Freddie and Eline Kalmus Pekar. She graduated from Wharton High School before attending nursing school and becoming a RN. She worked in this profession she loved for over 25 years. She may be remembered for her time at Memorial City, Lake Jackson, Gulf Coast Medical Center Behavioral Unit and Angels Home Health. In her spare time, she enjoyed attending concerts, casinos, travel and staying active. Theresa is survived by her sister Debra & Mickey Arias of Clute; brothers Freddie & Pat Pekar of Wharton, Gary & Rosalie Pekar of Wharton and Douglas & Melinda Pekar of Wharton; nieces and nephews Dusty Poole and James, Jennifer Guillory & Todd, Jason Pekar & Massiel and Joseph Arias & Ariel; and great-niece and nephew Kylee & Wesley Pekar. A graveside service was held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Memorial Park with Father Bob Knippenburg Officiating. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
