Elfrida (Flagg) Whitaker Elfrida (Flagg) Whitaker, 89, of Deming, NM, died December 27, 2015, in Las Cruses, NM. Frida was born on June 11, 1926, in Wharton, TX. She attended school in Burr, TX, and Wharton, TX. She married Martin Flagg, Jr. and remained his faithful wife until his passing on April 19, 1978. She married Murrell Whitaker on July 2, 1983, in Wharton, TX. They enjoyed 36 years of marriage. She moved to Deming, NM, in 2003. She enjoyed collecting rocks for her rock gardens, and tending her roses. Frida is survived by her husband Murrell Whitaker and son Martin Flagg III. Visitation will be held at Wharton Funeral Home from 9 – 1 on Saturday, January 2, with a burial to follow at 2:00 also on Saturday in Wharton City Cemetery.
