Daisy Windham, age 79 of Wharton and formerly of Norwalk, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016, in a Sugar Land hospital following a brief illness. She was born on November 5, 1936 in Tampa Florida, the daughter of the late Klaas Dursma and Verlie M. Brune. Daisy was preceded in death by her son, Karl “Buzz” Konvicka. Daisy was raised in the Columbus area and attended Columbus schools. She worked as a seamstress for many years in Wharton and El Campo. Daisy enjoyed card games, especially Canasta and Solitaire, dancing, and puzzles. She was a devout Baptist and enjoyed sharing her faith with others. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Brune Cemetery near Columbus at 2 pm with Pastor Gary Henneke officiating. Daisy is survived by her children, Mary Konvicka and husband, Robert of Wharton, Rebecca Osborne and husband, Kelly of Horseshoe Bay, Joan “Bunny” Fertsch and husband, Paul, Jr. of Wharton, Anna Dawson and husband, Daniel of Austin, Stephanie Tucker and husband, Tom of Victoria, Renee Garcia and husband, Pete of Markham, John Konvicka, Jr of Wharton, grandchildren, Eric Blakely, Christine Malone, Lindsey Altenburg, Andrew Fertsch, Jessica Lewis, Matthew Dawson, Aaron Dawson, Christopher Miller, Amanda Davis, Alyssa Garcia and Lawrence Konvicka and 10 great grandchildren, as well as many other loving family members and friends.
