Annie Agnes Orsak, 83, of Hungerford, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, following a lengthy illness. She was born September 3, 1932 in El Campo, Texas to parents Benedict and Annie Heinrich Kutach. Annie was raised in the Carancahua Community near Palacios, Texas and graduated from Palacios High School in 1949. She attended Durham Business College in Houston, Texas for a six-month secretarial course. She then began working as a secretary at the East Bernard Furniture Company. She married Joseph Orsak on April 12, 1950 in Palacios, Texas. Annie and Joe began their family and she became a homemaker and a stay at home mom. After being home for twenty years, Annie started back as a secretary/bookkeeper for the Hungerford Co-Op having worked for thirty years upon retirement in 2000. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford, Texas. She was a member of the Mother’s Club, Altar Society and taught CCD for many years. She was a member of KJZT Society #57 of Hungerford and served as secretary. Annie also was a member of KJT Society #79 and a member of the Hungerford Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. Annie is a breast cancer survivor of 34 years. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross. Annie enjoyed playing Bingo, Scrabble and working crossword puzzles. She loved cooking, baking and canning vegetables from her garden. She also enjoyed listening to Polka music on KULP Radio. Annie’s love of fishing and family traditions were an important part of her life. Annie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Orsak of 65 years, parents Benedict and Annie Kutach, brother in laws Johnnie Novak and Virgil Farley and son in law Rudy Tydlacka, Jr. Annie is survived by her sisters Adele Farley of Palacios, Helen Poessel and husband Louis of Blessing, and Thelma Orsak and husband Bennie of Palacios; daughters Marjorie Tydlacka of Wharton, Linda Clark and husband Aron of Needville, and Julia Kubes and husband Frank III of East Bernard; sons Joe Orsak Jr. and wife Monica of Columbus, Charles Orsak and wife Debra of Hungerford, and Tim Orsak and wife Lisa of Richmond; grandchildren Brandon Orsak and wife Holly, Barrett Orsak and wife Tiffany, Kami Orsak, Rebecca Bowers and husband Chad, Rachel Eschbacher and husband Brian, Melissa Ripple and husband Ken, Charlotte Sanchez and husband Hector, Colton Clark and wife Kaznie, Leanna Orsak and fiancée Jonathan Marett, Tanner Orsak, Frank Kubes IV and wife Susan, Christopher Kubes and wife Lindsey, Laura Chudej and husband David, and Katie Kubes; great grandchildren Connery, Brianna, Hayden, Rina, Wyatt, Chloe, Lanie, Kaylie, Kynlee, Alexis and Sam. Pallbearers included Brandon Orsak, Barrett Orsak, Frank Kubes IV, Christopher Kubes, Colton Clark, Tanner Orsak, Chad Bowers, Ken Ripple and David Chudej. Honorary pallbearers included Brian Eschbacher and Hector Sanchez. Visitation was held on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with a parish rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Burial followed in the St. John Cemetery in Hungerford. The family would like to thank the staff of Avalon Place of Wharton and Gulf Coast Medical of Wharton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, American Breast Cancer Foundation, or to St. John Catholic Cemetery Pavilion in Hungerford.
