Marcella Johanna Karasek Marcella Karasek, 90, of East Bernard, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2016, following an illness in a hospital in Richmond, Texas. She was born October 30, 1925 in Wallis, Texas to parents Joseph Orsak and Emilie Vaclavik Orsak. Marcella was raised in Wallis, Texas and and attended East Bernard Catholic Schools. She married the love of her life Wille “Bill” Karasek on November 9, 1942 in East Bernard, Texas. They were married for 66 years prior to his passing in 2008. Marcella loved cooking, and canning vegetables from her garden. She also enjoyed fishing, quilting and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Bill, Marcella was preceded in death by her daughter, Dolores Marquess; daughter in law Margie Karasek; sister Lucy Talas, sister Mary Zientek; brothers Bennie and Jerome Orsak and grandchild Tina Enoch. Marcella is survived by her daughters Dian Peschel of East Bernard and Charline Henneke of Katy; sons Eugene Karasek and wife Evelyn of Evant, Tx, Leonard Karasek of Rainbow, Tx, Wilburn and wife Shirley of East Bernard and Daniel Karasek and wife Bernadette of East Bernard; sister Albina Orsak; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and 1 on the way. Serving as Pallbearers were Rodney Karasek, Jerome Karasek, Stephen Karasek, William Karasek, Doug Johse, John Marquess and Jason Henneke. Visitation was held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with a parish rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Don Ruppert officiating. Burial followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard.
