Evelyn Jetelina Evelyn Jetelina, age 84, of Lane City, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 29, 1931 in El Campo, Texas, a daughter of the late Rudy Barta, Sr. and Lillian Sembera Barta. Evelyn graduated from El Campo High School and later attended business school in Houston. She married Joe Jetelina on January 9, 1954 in East Bernard. Evelyn worked as an administrative secretary to the Vice President of Wharton County Junior College for over 29 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed sewing, yard work and her grandchildren and later, great grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Shimek, sister, Sister Lillian Barta, brother, Rudy Barta Jr and his wife, Janelle Barta. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Joe Jetelina of Lane City, daughters, Susan Hatch and husband, Bruce of West Columbia, and Pat Sikora and husband, Dale of Hungerford, son, Randall Jetelina and wife, Brenda of Wharton, son in law, Rick Shimek of Burr, brother, Jerome Barta and wife, Liz of Wharton, grandchildren, Erin Andel and husband Darryl, Cody Hatch and wife Michele, Matthew Sikora and wife Kristen, Katie Ewing and husband Grant, Haley Jetelina and Taylor Jetelina; great grandchildren, Emilee, Quinn, Luke, Blaire, Mason, Jake and Coen. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Bob Knippenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers were Bruce Hatch, Cody Hatch, Taylor Jetelina, Rick Shimek, Dale Sikora and Matthew Sikora.
