Gloria G Ferrel Gloria G Ferrel, age 65, of East Bernard passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on October 26, 1950 in Ganado, a daughter of the late Gonzalo and Angelina Peralez Gonzales, Sr. Gloria was raised in the Hungerford area and graduated from Hungerford High School where she was a proud member of the Hungerford Steers. She was married to Ramon Ferrel, Sr. They lived in the Hungerford and East Bernard areas until his passing away on September 27, 1984. She was a supervisor at Gulf Coast Medical Center for many years. Gloria was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Wharton. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and family, and playing bingo any where, any time, any place. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gonzalo Gonzales, Jr and Ruben Gonzales. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28 from 5 till 9 pm at Wharton Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Father Antonio Perez officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Raymond Hawkins, Jr., Raymond Hawkins, Sr., Steve Gutierrez, Steven Ray Gutierrez, Samuel Rodriguez, Jr., Ryan Salazar, Anthony Gonzales, Sr., Joshua Jaquez, Fred Alcalar, Sr., Steve Salazar, John Gonzales and Phil Salazar. Gloria is survived by her daughters, Monica Gutierrez and husband, Steve of Wallis, and Ramona Ferrel Hawkins and husband, Raymond of East Bernard, son, Ramon Ferrel Jr. of Round Rock, sisters, Rose Garcia and husband, Manuel of Wharton, Janie Munoz and husband, Domingo of Hungerford, Lupe Gonzales of Rosenberg, and Linda Martinez and husband, Raymond of Wharton, brothers, Cerillo “Sonny” Gonzales and wife, Janie of Hungerford, Robert Gonzales and wife, Juanie of Sugarland, Daniel Gonzales and wife, Janie of Wharton, Felix Gonzales of Hungerford, and Johnny Ray Gonzales of Hungerford, sister in law, Virginia Gonzales of Houston, grandchildren, Steven Ray Gutierrez, Madison Gutierrez, Raymond Jace Ferrel, Raeanna Hawkins, Ravonna Hawkins, and Raymond Hawkins, Jr. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
