Henry Wylie McCain, 84, of East Bernard, died April 14, 2016, in Eagle Lake. Wylie was born on February 19, 1932 to John and Elizabeth Shifflet McCain, in East Bernard. He was their 13th, and youngest child. Wylie married the love of his life, Daliah Marling on June 26, 1955, in East Bernard. He served his country honorably in the Korean War, rising to the rank of Sergeant. Upon his return, he went to work as a Rancher. He worked as Ranch Foreman of the Hudgins Ranch until his retirement in 2000. In retirement, he began another career doing small engine repair, which he continued until his death. Of all the pleasures in his life, he took the most delight in making others happy. He always wanted to please, especially his wife and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and all 12 of his brothers and sisters. Wylie was survived by his wife of 61 years, Daliah Marling McCain; daughter Sharon Reno & Bill of Spring, TX; sons Timothy W. McCain & Sherri of Bay City, TX, Ronald W. McCain & Betty of Flatonia, TX, and Dale H. McCain & Kim of Orchard, TX; eight grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. with the service at 10:30 a.m., at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be officiated by Pastor Paul Stieb. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chris Reno, Kris McCain, Shawn McCain, Ronald Wade McCain Jr., David Morris, James McCain and Tommy Kopecky, serving as honorary pallbearers will be Coleman Locke and Wayne Woods.
