Joyce Tabor, 89, of Iago, passed away on Monday evening, April 25, 2016 at her residence in Iago. Joyce was born on October 16, 1926, to the late William and Norma Schrade Hoehne, in Sinton, Texas. Joyce was raised in the Sinton area and graduated from Sinton High School. She later graduated from Southwest Teachers College in San Marcos with a degree in Elementary Education. On June 22, 1952 she married William O Tabor. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1994. Joyce enjoyed making crafts, gardening, tending her flowers, and being with her grandchildren and later great grandchildren. She was very devoted to her church, Iago Federated Church. She was a leader of the Ladies Fellowship Class and taught Sunday School to the Busy Bees for over 40 years. In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Billie Evelyn Beyer. Joyce is survived by son, W.W. Billy Tabor and wife, Sheryl of Iago, grandchildren, Crystal Hambalek and husband, Shawn of West Columbia, William Tabor and wife, Heather of Iago, James Tabor and wife, Amy of Caney Trails, and Koby Gerberman and wife, Leslie of Palacios, 9 great grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, Danny Beyer, Sylvia Jennings, Nancy Cannon, Marvin Beyer, Bill Coskey and Carol Hearn, and her caregivers, Ramona Sedillo, Laura Sedillo, Juanita Aguillon and Lorenzo Aldape. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30 at 10:30 am at Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Ollie Southall officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be William Tabor, James Tabor, Koby Gerberman, Danny Beyer, Marvin Beyer and Lorenzo Aldape. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
