Polly Lee Watson Ahr

Polly Lee Watson Ahr, 74, of Houston, Texas, died peacefully on April 27, 2016. She was born in Wharton on July 21, 1941, to Emmitt Earl Watson and Margie Lee Frankum Watson. Polly graduated from Wharton High School. She later graduated from Wharton County Junior College where she was captain of the Starlettes. She moved to Houston and graduated from Hermann Hospital Radiology. She married the love of her life, Frank Ahr on March 18, 1967. She worked as an X-ray technician, worked for Fluor Engineering, and later became the manager for HealthSouth MRI. Polly enjoyed shopping, traveling especially throughout Texas and Mexico, and playing volleyball. In addition to her father, Polly was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Watson. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frank of Houston; mother, Margie Watson of Wharton; sister Donna Ullmann and husband Clayton of Wharton; brothers, Robert Watson and wife Helen of Seabrook and Douglas Watson and wife Sandra of Bay City, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 30 from 12 noon-2 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
