Mary Archer Hill

Mary Archer Hill Mary Archer Hill passed away at the age of 89 on May 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.   She was the only daughter of Charles Leo Barnes and Rosemary Dunser Barnes of Boling, Texas.   Mary was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on October 10, 1926.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son W. D. (“Bitsy”) Archer and, her grandson, Charles Michael Archer, Jr. (“Chuck”).  She was raised in Lawrence, Kansas and moved to Houston during world war II. She followed in her parent's footsteps owning a number of businesses in the Boling area.  In her later life, she enjoyed reading.  Mary will be remembered for her pancakes she would make into any shape her grandchildren wanted in order to make them smile. She enjoyed her birthday celebrations with her family at the beach house of her daughter, Linda, in Matagorda.   She is survived by her children, Mike Archer and wife Dot of Boling, Linda Lauret and husband Thurman of Lakeway, Kathy Edens and husband, Rod of Austin, and her youngest and devoted son, Wayne Archer and his wife, Shelly of Boling; grandchildren, Keith Archer and his wife, Tayna, Michelle Archer, Kim Archer, Shane Ganske and wife, Vikki, Ty Ganske, Eric Matula, Candi Hooper and husband, Matt, Sydney Archer; great-grandchildren, Cierra Campos, Danni Hooper and Michael Hooper, Tosha Mathews, Tye Archer, and Trevor Archer.  She is also a great-great-grandmother to four. A private family only service will be held prior to her interment in Wharton near her parents and her son.
