Wanda Wheaton Harrison

Wanda Harrison, 87, of Richmond, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in Sugar Land hospital. She was born December 18, 1928 in Fort Myers, Florida to the late Earnest B and Margaret Kennon Wheaton. Wanda was raised in the Ft. Myers area and graduated from Ft. Myers High School in 1946. She married Robert M Harrison on April 2, 1949 in North Augusta, South Carolina. She followed Robert as a military wife for many years, living in many places including Europe, Texas and Florida for 40 years before retiring to Richmond Texas in 2011. Wanda was very active as a volunteer for all of her adult life with the Red Cross and Homestead Hospital. Wanda is survived by her husband of over 67 years, Robert Harrison, of Richmond, daughter, Roberta R Harrison of Portland, OR, son, Richard K Harrison and wife, Susan Duyka Harrison of Richmond, brother, Richard Wheaton and wife, Brenda Barton Wheaton of Scottsville, KY, and grandson, Russell K Harrison of Richmond and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, May 27 from 6:30 till 8 pm at Wharton Funeral Home with funeral services to be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Pastor Alex Zeisig officiating. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery in Taiton, Texas. Funeral services were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home. Condolences can be made at whartonfuneralhome.com.
