Mamie Sterling Wilson

Mamie Sterling Wilson passed away at the age of 86 on May 29, 2016 at a local nursing home. She was born on April 6, 1930 in Alto, Texas, a daughter of the late Leonard Thomas and Emma Robinson McLeod.   Mamie was raised in the Boling area and graduated from Boling High School. She later attended WCJC. Mamie married E A. Sterling Jr. of Boling. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1971. She later married Thurman Wilson, and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2012. In addition to her parents, and husbands, she was preceded in death by her beloved sons Mark Sterling and Eddie Sterling III.; and many brothers and sisters. She was a devoted homemaker. She is survived by her son, Robert Sterling and wife Cynthia, of Santa Fe, TX and brother Pat McLeod of Bay City She is also a grandmother to five. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Wishert officiating.
