Mary Lou Lynch, age 73, of Wharton, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 16, 2016, following a lengthy illness. She was born on May 4, 1943, in Colorado City, Texas to the late Louis and Eula Wallace Taylor. Mary Lou was raised in north Texas, graduating from Bonham High School in 1961 and later attended Texas Women’s University. She began her secretarial career in banking over 35 years ago at Wharton Bank and Trust, retiring from Prosperity Bank in 2009. Mary Lou loved cooking for her family and always prepared each family member’s favorite meal on his/her birthday. She also enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, and researching her ancestry/family tree. Mary Lou was a graceful Southern lady and loved puns, laughing and being teased by her naughty children and grandchildren. However, nothing in this world meant more to Mary Lou or brought her more joy than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “Grandma”, “Grandma Lynch”, “Grandma with the Black Hair” shared a special relationship with each one of them. They laughed together, loved together and shared a mutual adoration for each other. They were her everything. Mary Lou was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother great-grandmother and friend, always putting others before herself. She had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her kindness, beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21 at 10 am from the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Wishert officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers are David Lynch, Cody Boatwright, Jordan Martinez, Troy Albrecht, Jason Martinez and Chris Canales. Survivors include her son, Terry David Lynch (Carol) of Wharton; daughters, Christa Lynch Albrecht (Troy) of Missouri City and Kelli Lynch Martinez (Jason) of Rosenberg; treasured grandchildren, David Lynch (Stacy) of Richmond, Cody Boatwright of Wharton, Jordan Martinez of Rosenberg, Sarah Lynch of Wharton, Taylor Albrecht of Hallettsville and Tanner Albrecht of Eagle Lake; and her precious great-grandchildren, Logan and Lyndi Lynch of Richmond. Mary Lou also leaves behind a treasured aunt and uncle, Pauline and Charlie Sullivan of Waco; special friends, Dorothy and Steve Bosch of Wharton; and many cousins, family members and friends who were touched by her. The family would like to thank the staffs of Houston Hospice, Wharton Nursing and Rehab, Oak Bend Medical Center and CHI St. Luke’s Health for the loving care provided to Mary Lou. Also, a special thanks to Pat Wilson for always ensuring that Mary Lou had beautiful hair. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in need. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.whartonfuneralhome.com. She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future. Proverbs 31:25
