Pete Perales, 75, of East Bernard, TX passed from this life on June 18, 2016 in his home surrounded by the family he so dearly loved. Pete was born in Flatonia, Tx on April 29, 1941 to the late Rosendo and Mercedes Cedillo Perales. Pete was raised in the East Bernard area and attended schools there. He worked for WKM as a machinist for 38 years. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Army. At the young age of 20, Pete’s family lost both their parents in an automobile accident. He stepped in and raised his 13 brothers and sisters. They remember him as their “father”, counselor, teacher, mentor but most importantly; Our Hero. They stated, he gave us all the things you need growing up. He was a member of the American Legion in Needville, enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader. Pete was a sports fanatic and enjoyed his compadres at the local saloon. He stressed the importance of education to all his brothers and sisters. In 1972 he married Lupe Perales. In addition to his parents, Pete was proceeded in death by his brother Canuto Perales; step-brothers Frank and Johnny Herrera, brothers in law, Angel Salcido and Felipe Salcido. Pete is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lupe Perales of Beasley; sons, Andrew Perales and Dennis Perales; sisters and brothers: Ventura Salcido, Betty Perales Wicke and husband Danny, Joe Perales and wife Margie, Diane Salcido, Lupe Aguilar and husband Tom, Mary Montalvo and husband Daniel, Walter Herrera, Jesse Herrera, Ralph Herrera and wife, Irma, Tony Dunbar and husband Sam; Ben Herrera and wife Penny, Lee Herrera and wife Gail, Minga Herrera-Fernandez and husband Joe Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with Deacon David Valdez officiating.
