Daniel Lee Ferrel, Jr., 20, of Hungerford, Texas, died June 22, 2016, as the result of an auto accident in Matagorda County. Daniel was born on June 11, 1996, to Daniel Sr. and Stephanie Ferrel, in Wharton, Texas. Daniel graduated from Boling High School, class of 2015. He worked as an overnight stocker for HEB and for Hunter’s Air Conditioning. Daniel loved life and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding four wheelers, camping, mudding, and spending time with his friends. He also enjoyed baseball and football. Daniel was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Salud Ferrel, Lupe Gomez, Joe Herrera and Antonio Jimenez. He was survived by his parents Daniel & Stephanie Ferrel of Pledger; grandparents Alfred Joe and Theresa Jimenez of Wharton, Daniel and Amelia Ferrel of Hungerford, Leticia Mata Ferrel of Houston, great-grandparents Romona Barrera of Wharton, Margaret Ferrel of Hungerford and Mary Gomez of Wharton; sister Alyssa Butler and her husband Charles of Austin; brother Steven Ferrel of Pledger; niece Katalyna Butler of Austin; aunts and uncles Vincent and Nancy Jimenez, Joe and Louisa Jimenez, Brian and Michelle Whenstein, Alexandria Jiminez, James and Erica Riley, Sonia Ferrel and Bennie Cirillo, Margaret Ferrel and Greg Rodriguez, Michelle Ferrel, Alan Hooks, Danielle and Chris Estrada and numerous cousins. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Rescue Church. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m. also at Rescue Church with Pastor James Riley of Crossover Community Fellowship officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be Steven Ferrel, Charles Butler, Alfred Vincent Jimenez, Adrian Jimenez, Antonio Garcia, Christopher Whetstein, Mason Hobizal and Chance Stidevent.
