Jesus Rodriguez Garza Jesse Garza, 77, of Clute, passed away on Sunday July 10, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jesse was born on August 5, 1938 in Boling to the late Julia Rodriguez Garza and Alberto Garza Sr. Jesse was raised in the Boling/ Newgulf area and attended Newgulf school. He married Mary Louise Ramirez on June 30, 1957 in Newgulf. Mary preceded him in death on January 29, 2005. Jesse was the owner of a wholesale produce company delivering fruit and vegetables to many restaurants and schools in the surrounding area. In his spare time, Jesse enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, and later, great grandchildren, making his special homemade coffee and hot sauce. Jesse was also a faithful member of St Jerome Catholic Church in Clute and was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents and wife, Jesse was preceded in death by his son, Steven Garza, grandson, Jesse Garza III, and brothers, Aaron Garza, Sr, George R Garza, Alberto Garza, Jr. Hector Ramirez and Euladio Garza. Jesse is survived by his children, Sylvia Barrera and husband, Rod of Newgulf, Jesse Garza, Jr. and wife, Melanie of Lake Jackson, Tommy Garza and wife, Laura of Clute and Jessica Best and husband, Noah of Clute, sisters, Sofia Rivera of Waller and Corina Garza of Needville, brothers, Reynaldo Garza of Angleton and Santos Garza of West Columbia, grandchildren, Rod Barrera, Jr., Bryan Barrera, Nick Barrera, Stephanie Barrera, Natalie Garza, Khloe Duhon, Karisa Guillen, Candi Garza, Shaun Garza, Holly Garza, Sophia Garza, Maria Salazar, Cristina Salazar, Erica Milner, Corey Best, Whitney Best, Araya Best and Sierra Best. Along with great grandchildren, Addison Barrera, Killian Sylvester, Donavan Segura and Jocelyn Milner with two more on the way. Visitation was held on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2016 from 5 till 9 pm, at Wharton Funeral Home, with a rosary recited at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 13, at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 507 South East Ave, Wharton Texas 77488 with Father Bob Knippenberg officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rod Barrera, Jr., Bryan Barrera, Nick Barrera, Shaun Garza, Corey Best and Kenny Garza.
