Don acquired his father’s small tire business in 1967. Over the years Don grew this business to what is today Strouhal Tire, a leader in the commercial tire industry. A family business in which he was proud of and loved dearly. He was known as a workaholic. He participated in his tire stores and enjoyed interacting with the customers. Don was adamant about business ethics, always opting to do the right thing. Don was the constant guardian for his family as well as his business, making sure that all was done accurately and to his meticulous standards. On special occasions as a young man he enjoyed goose and duck hunting with his father. Don’s hobbies centered around his business, however after evening meals and on weekends you would find him happily mowing grass and tending to his large wooded yard and lake. Working in the outdoors was a stress reliever for him and at the same time he enjoyed being outside and productive. Being with his family was important to Don. He took yearly vacations with them and he enjoyed the role of travel coordinator. He drove, picked the hotel, the food and even the music. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann Supak Strouhal, his daughter, Nancy Strouhal Macha and husband, Gene; his sons, Don Strouhal Jr. and wife, Ann Harris Strouhal of Pearland and Gene A.
