Fern J. Gavin

Fern J. Gavin, 82, of Wharton, died August 9, 2016, at her home in Boling. Fern was born on September 28, 1933, to Marvin and Dollis Jaeger, in Round Top, Texas She was raised in the Round Top area and graduated from Bellville High School before marrying Richard Gavin on December 7, 1958 in Shelby, Texas. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, and the wife of a Police Officer and Preacher. She also loved caring for her birds, squirrels, sewing and other crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 27 years. She was survived by her daughter Ramona Petrosky & husband David of Boling; son Michael Gavin & wife Thelma of Sweeney; and grandchildren D.J., Dollie, and Dillon. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Wharton Funeral Home with John McCord and others officiating. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
