Norman "Jr" Boedeker, 57, of Wharton, Texas, passed away following an extended illness. He was born August 7, 1959 in Shiner, Texas, to Norman Boedeker Sr. and Mabel Marie Koenning Boedeker. Norman was raised in Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School in 1987. He worked as a carpenter. Norman enjoyed Bar-B-Que with family and friends. He like to build swings and wood working in general. He listened to Elvis music, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his father, Norman Boedeker Sr. Norman is survived by his children, Amber Gurecky and husband, Bradley of Wharton, Bryan Huber of Springdale, Arkansas, and Paulette Munoz and husband, Jessie of El Campo, step-son Kevin Huber of Humble, mother, Mabel Marie Boedeker, Sister Darlene Zahradnik and husband, Butch of Wharton, brothers, Kelly Boedeker of Wharton and Ronnie Boedeker and wife, Sharon of Wharton. His grandchildren, Colton Gurecky, Brenna Gurecky, Kelsey Chumchal and Cody Huber, great grandchild, Emily Ramos. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Mickey Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Timmy Barker, Robert McGlone, Ryan Boedeker, Daron Boedeker, Brandon Zahradnik and Jessie Munoz. Funeral services were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
