Alvin D. Schultz, 66, of Wharton, died October 27, 2016 in Sugar Land, TX. Alvin was born on June 16, 1950, to Alvin Lee and Myrtle Geraldine Schultz in Wharton. He graduated from trade school as an electrician and worked his way up to Master Electrician. Alvin was married to Claudia M. Schultz on July 16, 1989. They were married 27 years. Alvin worked as an Assistant Director of Facilities Management at Wharton County Jr College and retired on June 16, 2016 for a total of 30 years of service. One of his greatest joys was fishing and boat riding with friends and close family. He also enjoyed BBQ, fish fries, and spending quality time with friends and family reminiscing the old times. He also loved the holidays and enjoyed helping his wife, Claudia prepare the dinners and even the shopping! And most of all, he LIVED to help raise and provide for “his world” Pedro Mendoza Jr. and Sydney Reagan Petrash. Alvin was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Geraldine Schultz, and his father, Alvin Lee Schultz, along with his brother-in-law, Harold King, and many more. Alvin was survived by his wife, Claudia Schultz; daughter Michelle Rieger & John Cantu of Wharton; sisters Gerry King of Cypress, Jan & Delyn Houder of Pinehurst, and Gail Schultz & Steve Salazar of Wharton, along with nephews and a niece. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Feyen, Lupe Moreno, John McLeroy, Philip Hamlin, Henry Longoria, Forrest Wittig, Mike Greene, and Juan Cantu Jr. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
