Reba Joines Wisnieski, 72, of Wharton, Texas, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 in a Sugar Land hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 10, 1944 in Houston Texas, a daughter of the late John Milton and Thelma Lois Barker Joines. Reba was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School. She later attended Wharton County Junior College and graduated from Tree of Life in New Braunfels with a Bible Degree. Reba was the 13th person to undergo open heart surgery in the United States under the hands of Dr. Michael Debakey and Dr. Denton Cooley at the age of 14. She married Sammy Wisnieski on June 29, 1963 in Wharton Texas. She worked her early years as a dispatcher for Wharton County Sherriff Department. Her true calling in life was in Ministry, opening her heart and her home to the beginnings of what is now Rescue Church. She was very active in Teen Ministry, especially Believers Bootcamp, later Discovery Camp. She also was active as a speaker for Women’s Aglow Ministry as well as other Women’s ministries associated with her local church. She enjoyed chatting at the coffee shop when she was not busy at My Storehouse Mini Storage, which Sammy and Reba started in 2001. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Baby Girl Wisnieski, Brother in Law Robert Jacobs and her great grandson, Connor Hooper. Reba is survived by her husband, Sammy Wisnieski of Wharton, son, Stephen Wisnieski and wife, Carolyn of Wharton, grandchildren, Zachary Hooper and wife, Lisa, Aaron Wisnieski and Jason Wisnieski and great grandson, Collin Hooper, sisters, Wanda Jacobs of Uvalde and Billie Jean Duyka and husband, Rudy of Newnan, GA, brother, John Joines and wife, Carolyn of Georgetown, brother in law, Richard Wisnieski and wife, Kathy, sisters in law, Lois Franz and husband, Curtis and Sue Looper. Her nieces and nephews also survive, John Harrell Joines, Bobby Jacobs, David Jacobs, Michael Jacobs, John Jacobs, Timmy Duyka, Barbara Jacobs Denton and Michelle Duyka. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 3 pm at Rescue Church in Wharton with Pastor Paul Stieb officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Jacobs Jr., Tim Duyka, Kevin Pierce, Zachary Hooper, Aaron Wisnieski and Jason Wisnieski, and Russell Hill. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
