Manuel Flores Manuel Flores, 64, of Spanish Camp, Texas passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at a hospice facility in Houston, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Manuel was born on August 22, 1952, in El Campo, Texas, to the late Basilio and Manuela Rios Flores. Manuel was raised in the Glen Flora area. He later married Josephina Torres in 1969. Working as a farm laborer, Manuel enjoyed his garden, animals and especially fishing anywhere he could get a line wet. He was a member of the Catholic Faith. Manuel was survived by his wife of 47 years, Josephine Flores, daughters, Judy Flores and husband, Francisco Ortiz, Belinda Flores and Melinda and son, Manuel Flores, Jr. all of Spanish Camp, sisters, Manuela Leal and husband, Juan of El Campo, Dalia Smith and husband, Marvin of Egypt, and Louisa Solis of El Campo, brothers, Basilio Flores, Jr., and wife, Antonia and Jessie Flores and wife, Tina both of Spanish Camp, grandchildren, Francisco Ortiz, Jr., Miguel Ortiz, Jessica Reyna and Joe Reyna, III. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 5 until 8 at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with a Parish Rosary recited at 7pm. The Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be celebrated by Fr. Bob Knippenberg on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 10 am from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Wharton. The Rite of Committal and burial will take place in Glen Flora Cemetery in Cresent. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
