Patricia Jean Spacek, 69, of Wharton, Texas passed away peacefully on December 23, 2016. Patty was born on January 29, 1947 in El Campo Texas to the late Richard and Gladys Wishert Schoellmann. Patty grew up in El Campo and graduated from El Campo High School. She married Raymond Spacek on October 15, 1966. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2010. A lifelong resident of Wharton County, Patty worked in law enforcement for many years, first at the Wharton County Sherriff Office and later at Wharton Police Department, where she eventually retired. An active member of St John Catholic Church in Hungerford, she enjoyed teaching the youth about her religion, attending Czech Catholic Church Bazars, fishing, hunting, visiting with friends and family and being around her grandchildren. Patty also loved the country life, and enjoyed watching the barnyard animals out the back window of the house. Patty also enjoyed traveling and reading a good book. In addition to her parents and husband, Patty was preceded in death by her sisters, Earlene Marie Horton, Betty Anne Schoellmann, and Margaret Ann Kramer. Patty is survived by her daughters, Peggy Herrera and husband, Ruben of Shiner, Jeanna Thompson of Kerens, Kathy Ware and husband, Kyle of Powell and Becky Huddleston and husband, John of Wharton, 13 grandchildren, Melissa Marie Herrera, Kassandra Leigh Herrera, Roberto James Roy Herrera, Samantha Rae Herrera, Mathias Wayne Herrera, Mason Walker Thompson, Wyatt Blaise Spacek Ware, Laynie Kate Flossie Ware, Kash Andrew Henry Ware, Josephine Lynn Huddleston, Jesse Lynn Huddleston, Jacob Lynn Huddleston and Johanna Lynn Huddleston. Following cremation, Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30 then a Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St John Catholic Church in Hungerford with Father Charles Dwomoh officiating. Burial will be held in St John Catholic Cemetery. Serving as honorary pall bearers were members of the Wharton Police Department. Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
