Jeffrey Gene Sciba, Sr., 77, of Wharton, died January 7, 2017, in El Campo. Jeffrey was born on February 22, 1939, in Wharton, to the late William and June Parker Sciba. Jeffrey was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School, class of 1957, before enlisting in the Navy. He married the love of his life, Ann Barton Sciba that year also. He served honorably for four years. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for 34 years, until his retirement in 1995. Jeffrey was a Charter Member of the Shriners Al Amin Temple in Corpus Christi. He loved his Harley and going with friends on cross country rides to places such as New York City and Key West, but his favorite rides were always with Ann in his side car. Jeffrey is survived by his wife; Ann of Wharton; daughters Denise Sciba Moore of Cortez, CO, and Diane Sciba Villarreal of San Antonio; son Jeffrey Gene Sciba, Jr., of Cedar Park; sisters Carol Sciba Harrell and husband Ken of Austin and Shirley Sciba Wunneburger & husband Richard of Westcliff, CO; brothers Bill Sciba and wife Sandy of Victoria and Mike Sciba of Victoria; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will hold a private remembrance following cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donation to the Wharton Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund be considered.
