Joyce Marie Zahradnik Joyce Marie Zahradnik, 74, of East Bernard, TX, passed away on Saturday evening, January 28, 2017 in a Richmond hospital following a lengthy illness. Joyce was born on June 15, 1942, to the late Claude Hershel Case and Bertha Mae Stewart Case, in East Bernard, TX. Joyce was raised in the East Bernard, Rosenberg and Deer Park areas. It was in Deer Park she met her future husband, Edward Frank Zahradnik. The couple was married on August 12, 1961 in Pasadena. The young couple settled in the East Bernard area and raised four sons., Troy Zahradnik and wife, Brenda of Wharton, Bobby Zahradnik and wife, Michelle of Nederland, Edward Zahradnik, Jr. of Austin and Russell Zahradnik of Beaumont. Joyce enjoyed fishing, playing softball, going everywhere for Bingo and all kinds of card games and dominoes. Lately she could be found most days curled up on the couch with a good book and her dog, Dutchess. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James, Jimmy, Kenny, Claude and Johnnie Case and great grand-daughter, Brooklynn. In addition to her husband and children, she is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Amber, Shelby, Ashley, Matthew, Kallie, Russell Deon and Ross, great Grandsons, Christopher and Nicholas, and a brother, Billy Case. Visitation was held on Tuesday evening, January 31 starting at 6 p.m. at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 2pm on Wednesday, February 1 at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in St John Catholic Cemetery in Hungerford. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
