Jay C. Hevener Jay Cornelius Hevener, 68, of Stafford and formerly of Boling, passed away on January 31, 2017 following a sudden illness in a life care facility in Houston. Jay was born on February 15, 1948 in El Campo, Texas to the late George and Marian Gregory Hevener. Jay was raised in the Boling area and attended school there. Jay served our country proudly in the United States Army, earning his honorable discharge in October 1971. He worked as a pianist for many years, playing private parties, and many events around the area. Jay had a passion for golf, and would be on the links any time he could. Jay is survived by his sister, Nettie Mosteller and husband, Jon of Woodstock, GA, cousins, Ron and Jan Jones of Boling, niece, Amanda Jackson and her children, Matthew and Aubrey, and nephew, Joshua Harvey and husband, Jordan Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1 pm at Wharton Cemetery under the auspices of the Wharton American Legion Post 87 and VFW post 4474.
