Maria Elena Izaguirre

Maria Elena Izaguirre Maria Izaguirre, 56, of Hungerford, passed away February 20, 2017, in an El Campo hospital. Maria was born on February 5, 1961, in Fresno, CA. She was a daughter of the late Ricardo Sosa, Jr. and Teodora Torres Sosa. Maria was raised in California and attended Sunnyville Schools. She was a hard worker that labored tirelessly daily at her jobs at Gayla Kite and later Wal Mart. When not at work, she could be found in her garden, tending her plants or watching classic movies on the television. She especially loved a good comedy movie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Gloria Sosa, Consuelo Sosa, Rosalinda Coleman, and brothers, Rogelio and Jose Sosa. She leaves behind her loving children, Aracely Acuna of Hungerford, Gloria Martinez of Houston, Santos Martinez and wife, Valarie of El Campo and Erasmo Leal of Wharton, her sister, Dolores Sosa Munoz and husband, David of Wharton and brother, Ricardo Sosa, Jr and wife, Blanca of Boling, her precious grandchildren, Katrina Acuna, Jesus Silva, Aalaina Horta, Aaliyah Horta, Ray Martinez, Rene Castro, Ryan Hernandez, Damian Adam Pena, Anjelica Rose Martinez, Sapphire Rose Martinez and Nene Leal. Following cremation, private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
