Ruby Garcia, 62, of Wharton, passed away early Sunday morning, February 12, 2017, in Richmond. She was born on October 21, 1954 in Yoakum, Texas to the late Teodoro and Emma Rodriguez Manciaz. Ruby attended school in Cresent and El Campo. She was a security guard for most of her life. She enjoyed her job and was known as the family workaholic. When she was not at work, Ruby enjoyed sewing and crochette, reading her Bible, and decorating for Halloween. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Alex Manciaz. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16 after 5 pm with a parish rosary recited at 7 pm all at the Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 17, 2017 at St Roberts Catholic Church in El Campo with Rev. Laurence Matula officiating. Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in El Campo. Serving as Pallbearers will be Joe Hernandez, Jr., Marty Manciaz, Clifton Manciaz Jr., Mateo Navarro, Jr., Clarence Manciaz, Jr. and Alex Manciaz. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Ted Manciaz, Jr., Toby Manciaz, Leon Hernandez, Anthony Manciaz, Rocky Manciaz, Randy Manciaz, Jr., Arthur Castro, Adam Castro, Artie Castro and Jonathan Goana Ruby was survived by her daughters, Ruby Estrada of Eagle Lake, and Monica Glover and husband, LaRay of Wharton, sons, Samuel Zamora, Jr. of Palestine and Jeremy Estrada of Wharton, sisters, Felicita Goana and husband, Johnny of Wharton, Mary Hernandez and husband, Joe of Wharton, Emma Ogle and husband, Jerry of El Campo, brothers, Ted Manciaz, Jr. of Arkansas, Clifton Manciaz of El Campo, Oscar Manciaz and wife, Brenda of Eagle Lake, Clarence Manciaz of Wharton, Randy Manciaz and wife, Elaine of El Campo, and Jessie Manciaz of Midland, grandchildren, Kaiden, LaRasha, and Paul, great grandchildren, Paul, Jr. and Ricky.
