Geronimo “Gmo” Garcia, Jr. AKA Jerry, 46, of Wharton, passed away February 28, 2017, in El Campo, TX. Gemo was born on February 11, 1971, in Richmond, Tx, to Geronimo Garcia Sr and Isabel Andrade Garcia. Gmo was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School. He was disabled, but had previously worked as a cook. He enjoyed dancing and rock music. He loved to make kids and laugh, but most of all he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Erik Garcia and Jo Jamie Estrada of Wharton; father Geronimo Garcia Sr.; grandparents, Ynes and Andrea Andrade of Wharton; and aunt Anna Andrade Rivera of Wharton. Geronimo is survived by his wife, Belinda Saucedo Garcia; daughters, Selest Garcia of Wharton, Alyssa Garcia of Florida, step daughters Heather Perez and husband, Matthew Buzek of El Campo and Destiny Lopez of El Campo; sons, David Lee Garcia and wife, Alicia of Canada, Latron Garcia of Wharton, step son Jimmy Garcia of El Campo and Julian Garcia of El Campo; sisters, Sara Garcia of Ft. Worth, Mary Sanchez of El Campo, Annette Vega and husband, Fermin of El Campo, Judie Valdez and husband, Jasper III of Wharton, Sandy Garcia, Kelly Garcia and Amanda Garcia; brothers Edward Garcia of Oklahoma, Ynes Garcia and wife, Priscilla DelaRosa of Corpus Christi, Julian Estrada Jr of Lane City and Frankie Garcia of Port Lavaca and Jerry Wayne Garcia of Ft . Worth; grandchildren, Anthony Perez, Alexis Perez, Brianna Rangel, Rihanna Rangel and Kaylee Buzek and Starla Garcia. and nephews Shawn Eric Garcia of El Campo, David C. Wingo and Erik Estrada of Wharton, Edward Francisco of Oklahoma, Edward David Lee of Oklahoma, Isaiah of Oklahoma. nieces Skilyn Wingo and Alexis Wingo of Wharton, Lauren of Oklahoma, Makayla Marie of Brownwood; numerous more nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 starting at 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with Father George Kunnath officiating. A Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Matthew Buzek, Anthony Perez, Jasper Valdez III, Edward Garcia, Miquel Zavala, Gregory Navarro and Shawn Garcia.
